We are happy to announce the release of the newest version of Librum. We have added many new features and fixed multiple bugs. In the following we will spotlight some of the most important new features, starting with:
The Free Books page gives you access to over 70.000 books that are 100% free. All the books are non-copyright books, which makes it possible for us to distribute them freely.
The Free Books Page contains most of the well known classic pieces of literature, including all books of Shakespeare, many short stories and much more.
The next feature is one a lot of user anticipated. It's the in-app dictionary:
The new in-app dictionary is making use of Wiktionary and provides access to any word that you want to learn more about. It automatically tries to find the language that the word is most likely to belong to and gives you a proper description of its meaning.
On top of that, you have to possibility to follow any kind of link in the dictionary entry, enabling you to dive into the definition of your word, follow more elaborate links to Wikipedia or discussions connected to it.
The next feature is rather small, but still crucial for a great reading experience. We have added search options to be able to customize the way you search through books.
Based on your feedback we made it the default to start searching from the current position and added options for case sensitive searching and searching whole words.
On top of these changes we have made other, smaller changes that are supposed to make using Librum more fun!
Feedback is crucial for the development of Librum. If you run into any bugs or would like to see any new features, please reach out to us at: contact@librumreader.com
